Our workshops are great value for the money and they sell out quickly.
We really try hard to get the best at the best price. We pay the artist's daily fee, plus housing, car miles or rental car plus gas, airfare food allowance and our lease for the Lion's Club plus lunch and base our fee on 16 students.

We got the famous artist Lian Zhen to do a Four-Day workshop. He will do a complete session on Watercolors and one session on two techniques of Chinese Painting. So you will have two workshops in one. www.lianspainting.com.

Next workshop will be about a pretty new paint by Golden, called "OPEN". As the name suggests, Open stays longer open. It is acrylic paint with the characteristics of oil. So you get the best of two worlds.

K.D. Tobin is the artist who teaches the workshop, but he is also (employee owned) Golden's representative and will come to us with a load of goodies.
The workshop will start with an afternoon demo session on February 9. and will continue on February 10 and 11. Cost will be $180.00
KD Tobin is the Golden's artist is coming from Sarasota. His work hangs in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe. He is currently represented by Art Dimensions, Inc. in Los Angeles, and in Europe by Paul Arellano of International Artists’ Agency, Munich.
The price will be $180 and that includes all of the Golden products used in the classes but a lot of samples and goodies to take home. It also includes lunches

A presentation on acrylic paints from A to Z. We will cover pigments, extending paints, Digital Grounds, the new and exciting line of "OPEN" acrylic, the paint that stays wet and workable longer than regular acrylics, plus a whole lot more. There's a little something for everyone. All attendees will receive a valuable information packet and free samples of Golden products.
Seductive Surfaces for Collage and Painting:
Wednesday Feb. 10, Explore new, fun and innovative approaches to collage using acrylic mediums. Try new surfaces. Learn to create a multitude of surfaces with acrylic gels and grounds that can enhance the collage process. Explore grounds for washes, glazes, texture and layering, for drawing and painting and applying images. This class will be exploratory, fun and inventive. Suitable for all levels, Golden Artist Colors materials supplied.
Gel Skins and Image Transfer:
Thursday, Feb 11, Explore a variety of ways to make transferable gel skins and other methods for transferring imagery directly into your paintings and collages. Suitable for all skill levels. All Golden materials supplied. .
Supply List:
Artists should bring along a few favorite drawing elements such as pastels, colored pencils, oil sticks, etc., and a brush and palette knife or two along with a small bucket for water and a roll of paper towels are suggested.
The 2010 oil workshop artist comes by recommendation of two PIAG members who loved every minute they spent at class. Caroline Jasper is a very renowned artist and teacher. Check out her website: www.carolinejasper.com.
